The goal of this project was to investigate a specific material and process, then highlight its unique attributes as the central point of the design.

For Tug, steam bent plywood was chosen as it has a unique balance between elegant and utilitarian.

Sketch Ideation

Development focused on exploring ways to celebrate the elegance of curved plywood, as well as making it a functional element of the design.

The Lamp

Tug to Adjust

Tugging the handle moves the neck through the base, adjusting light angle. Shade can be rotated to further adjust direction.
